I built this duplex with it’s luxury rental loft apartment over the last 3 years using the best, most experienced people in town and it contains all the fire and sound proofing that modern building codes demand. I’m renting the 2nd and 3rd floor loft on a short term furnished basis. It has one large bedroom with a double cupboard and built-in washer/dryer. The living area flows from one space to another with a 22 foot loft and mezzanine live/work space opening onto a large roof deck. Lots of trees and great views make this a pleasant place to relax and cook on the natural gas Barbecue. Hot and cold running water and a power outlet make the deck even more enjoyable. The house has magnificent 3/4 beech hardwood floors custom finished in place by an old world craftsman. There is a two piece bathroom for guests as well as a private tub/shower with sink for long soaks in the extra deep tub. The suite has it’s own heat and air conditioning unit as well as a “Casablanca” ceiling fan to circulate air throughout the loft space. If you’re expecting company there’s a switch to turn on the front door light from upstairs as well as a video doorphone to view and talk with visitors. Best of all you can buzz them in from upstairs. I tried to think of everything! There’s a 42″ plasma TV with cable, and DVD player, wireless internet and a CD stereo with IPod dock. Stainless steel fridge, stove, d/w, microwave, etc.
